Corporate Accountant

Link Logistics Real Estate (“Link”) is an industrial real estate operating platform owned by The Blackstone Group Inc.  Link currently manages a national portfolio of high-quality, well-located industrial assets totaling over 397 million square feet throughout the U.S. 

 

The Senior Corporate Accountant is responsible for understanding GAAP Accounting Requirements including but not limited to: Straight Line Rent inclusive of blend and extend methodology; Recoveries and the various methods of recovery (CAM, DB, Direct Pay;) Intangible Assets related to leasing; Understanding of Basic Real Estate verbiage, including but not limited to: Gross Up; Expense Cap; Base Year; Pro-Rata Share; Weighted Occupancy; and Leakage.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare monthly work papers and variance reports for corporate entities.
  • Gather and analyze monthly financial information provided by joint venture partners to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting for joint venture partners.
  • Prepare quarterly and/or yearly budgets for corporate entities and ensure proper communication of differences.
  • Assist with quarterly and annual audits, both external and internal.
  • Assist with payment tracking and invoice coding for corporate entities.
  • Prepare monthly analyses to identify issues with any setup that may not accurately capture a unique situation.
  • Assist with improvement of corporate processes and controls to ensure proper reporting. Determining when to capitalize versus expense.
  • Purchase Order coding review over $5,000.
  • Additional special projects at the discretion of management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Accounting degree preferred.
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
  • 4+ years of public accounting experience, real estate and/or financial services preferred.
  • Detail oriented, strong analytical, organizational, problem solving and computer skills, proven ability to meet deadlines, works well under pressure and possess the ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize effectively.
  • Specialize in business accounting and maintaining financial records.
  • Understanding of accounting for loans and financial instruments.
  • Experience with preparing financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with Yardi is a plus.
