This position will be the deputy head of Link’s highly innovative and extremely well-regarded research group, working in partnership with the SVP of Research & Analytics to manage all the group’s key activities. The position will have a special focus on the research department’s presentation of content to external audiences, including Blackstone, especially the production of research white papers based on internal research projects and product.


Link’s research department is the largest and most successful research effort among Blackstone’s many portfolio companies. The group’s efforts began with using data science models to set and project market rents for all US industrial assets, infrastructure that is now being used by Link and Blackstone in key industrial budgeting and investment decision making processes. The team’s efforts have expanded into broader fundamental logistics research, helping Link management to forge a deep understanding of the long-term drivers of industrial real estate demand and building relationships and expertise in the realms of automation, warehouse management, and logistics. Link wishes to further expand and publicize these efforts in the coming year, making the research department a world-renowned player in fundamental industrial research and logistics expertise.


  • Partner with the SVP of Research & Analytics to manage and direct the activities of the team’s staff of six, including setting and tracking priorities and team deadlines for an extensive list of research projects
  • Establish a deep understanding of industrial real estate and overall logistics fundamentals, thereby generating and leading execution of new and actionable research projects in the field
    • Generate creative new ideas for research topics
    • Challenge our existing assumptions
    • Conduct primary research with customers, with industry sources, and with our investment and leasing teams in the field
  • Lead efforts to publish 5-6 white papers per year, largely based on ongoing internal research efforts and projects
  • Lead efforts to better present Link research to external audiences, including leading preparation of research content for Link board book, display of research data on the intranet and internet home pages, and placement of articles in mainstream and trade press
  • Partner with Link’s VP of Supply Chain to help lead Link’s fundamental research efforts


  • 5-10 years of relevant research experience
  • 3-5 years of people management
  • Deep, analytical, independent thinker
  • Some knowledge of and deep curiosity for data science, willingness to develop or expand coding skills if needed
  • Exposure to real estate investing preferred
