As the VP of Human Capital Security for the firm, your primary responsibilities will be to provide governance and protection for our most important asset, our people. The role reports to the Chief Risk Officer as your advocate and partner in various risk management strategies for all our employees and operations. This position includes employee training, physical security strategies and standards, security awareness campaigns, phishing simulations, business continuity and disaster recovery coordination, coordinating the response of the Emergency Management Operating Committee when threats to health and safety emerge, and coordinating incident reports.

• Develop a Human Capital Risk Management strategy and road map and implementation plan. 
• Conduct Operational Risk assessments as needed to advise business stakeholders on gaps and solutions to identified gaps in our processes.
• Create an investigations and incident process which reports on physical security incidents and helps mitigate them in future. 
• Manage and maintain an end to end, physical security policy life cycle. 
• Develop and execute Security Awareness plans and training for physical and cyber related topics. 
• Develop and execute a Physical Security Strategy that considers safety aspects including fire, flood, active violence, civil unrest, and other perils that may emerge. 
• Develop and execute a Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery testing and coordination strategy. 

Technical  

Enterprise-wide skills deploying unified compliance frameworks, GRC platform management, and implementing the right tools to holistically manage an integrated risk management approach for a risk-averse enterprise 

Subject matter expertise in the following areas:

• Internal risk assessments with recommendations for reduction of risks through policy, process, or technology  
• Strong familiarity with the various US States physical security and safety requirements.
• Experience with emergency notification systems and their deployment.  
• Experience working with a distributed workforce and applying prudent e standards based upon the likelihood and impact of disparate risks    

Relationship Building  

• Proven track record of building deep relationships with senior stakeholders  
• Experience in managing relationships to get consensus on solutions between front-line risk, third-line audit, and legal peers  
• Ability to engage, influence and lead in a positive inspiring manner with strong empathy for the front-line of the business  
• The finesse to deliver positive or negative information professionally and inspirationally that makes sense, urges the business towards best practices, and is nested in the justification of “why”
• Liaison between physical security, recovery of operational events, cybersecurity, IT, and compliance disciplines.  

Collaboration, Mentoring, and Communication  

• Acknowledged for driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts and ensuring follow through with exceptional verbal and written communication skills  
• Ability to orchestrate, lead, and influence virtual teams, ensuring successful maturation of processes and controls  
• Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort for both large and small audiences (Senior Executives, IT management, Credit, Legal, Cyber, Facilities)   
• Managerial skills to recruit, mentor, and grow a small team with a big mandate

• Bachelor’s degree. Advanced degree preferred in business, law, or a relevant field 
• 10+ years of success in managing and delivering Human Capital Risk
• 10+ Experience with implementation and management of Operational Risk
• Background in BCP/DR strategies and running tabletop exercises
• Sound experience in Investigations, Security Awareness and Training
• Sound background in Audit, Compliance and Cybersecurity
